The basic steps to use VCM II to diagnose Suzuki with SDT 2

- install IDS software in clean VM Windows 7 32 bit.
- downgrade firmware to v2.1.119.19
-Mazda-V94
- install SDT SDT-II_soft_2140025
- in C:\Program Files\Bosch\VTX-VCI copy all files from "VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II)" to "VCI Software (6516-Suzuki)"
and run.

For owners of Ford VCM II (dual-board), an instruction (more specifically a review) for installing and configuring the Ford VCM II to work with the Suzuki SDT-2 program. 

The site of the program is posted (sold) version 2.8.0.46, on the network (thanks to the distributor) 2.9.0.47 (from 1.10.2015).

For those already using the Ford VCM II with the Ford IDS program.

On the laptop (or OS) where the Ford VCM II with Ford IDS is installed and running, go along the path:

C: \ Program Files \ Ford Motor Company \ IDS \ Runtime \ install3rdparty \ ETAS
or
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Ford Motor Company \ IDS \ Runtime \ install3rdparty \ ETAS

Copy and save in a convenient place for you or media, the file is the installer of the VCM II manager running Ford IDS.

Install the Suzuki SDT-2. Run the installer program, after a short time the program will ask you to connect VCM II. It is enough to connect via USB. We connect, only after this the program will be completely installed. (VCM II connected)

The program is installed, turn off VCM II.

We launch the file of the installer of the VCM II manager running Ford IDS.

We follow the path: "C: \ Program Files \ VTX-VCI". We see two folders of VCI Software (6516-Suzuki) and VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II).

We copy the contents of the VCI Software folder (Ford-VCM-II) and paste it into the VCI Software folder (6516-Suzuki).

Reboot. We plug the power of 12 volts through the diagnostic tool, the VCM II is plugged, we connect the VCM II via USB to the laptop. There will be, as usual, installation of drivers.

Launch the VCM II Manager. The Start button \ All Programs \ Bosch \ VCI Software (6516-Suzuki) \ VCM Manager (6516-Suzuki). Click Connect. A green quote appears in the VCM image. Click on Show Details. Look, in the lines of the PC S / W Version and VCM II S / W Version, the numbers match. At the top of the picture VCM Manager inscription VCM II Manager (Ford-VCM-II). It should be so. We close VCM Manager.

We launch Suzuki SDT-2. We rejoice.

When working with the program. Connected the scanner to the car, waited for "peak", connected via USB to the laptop and run Suzuki SDT-2. If necessary, we switch to the required language via the System Configuration (Russian is present). I have an eng OS and the program was installed with a sample of English. We are working. The program is simple, I think the questions should not arise.

How to Update Ford VCM II IDS To V97.01

This is the step-by-step instruction on how to update the newest Ford IDS V97 for VCM II.

What’s your FORD IDS version?

For users with FORD IDS V81/V91, please install the FORD IDS V96 first, then install IDS V97.

For users with FORD IDS V96, just install IDS V97 and the VCM 2 firmware to do diagnosis or programming on your Ford vehicles.

How to update to Ford IDS V97?

1. Find this button in the VCM 2 main unit, and then press on it.

2. Press the button until the power is connected and all the lights are lighted.

  Then connect the VCM II to the laptop via USB port.

3. Open the software, Ford IDS, then it will prompt update information on your VCM II.

Update success.

4. Restart your laptop after update. Then re-connect to the VCM II for diagnosis or programming.

5. The case is based on the installed FORD IDS V96. Just install V97 to do a test.

When install VXDIAG Ford IDS V95 on VMware, the VMware display License Not valid error message. Try to re-install software, but still fail to work.

Solution:

Just change the date and time (time zone) setting of master laptop to UTC+08:00 Beijing, ChongQin----,then to click OK

Click “Finish” to exit the wizard when Mazda C93 is installed.

Open “Computer/Local Disk (C:)/Program Files/Bosch/VIX-VCI/”. Two folders--- “VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II)” and “VCI Software (Mazda-VCM-II)”. Copy all the files from “VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II)” to “VCI Software (Mazda-VCM-II)”.

Click “Yes” with selection of “Do this for all current items”.

Copy and replace for all conflicts.

Click “Continue”.

5. Run Mazda IDS.

Connect your VCM II and vehicle.

Open “Mazda IDS” on Desktop.

Select “dealer type: Non-Dealer” and “country: IRELAND”. Then click the tick button.

Configuring PC and VCM II use...

Select “Start New Session/All other”.

Establishing communication to PCM...

Select “Yes” for the vehicle specification.

Select “No” and click the tick button.

Click the tick button.

Turn to this interface to select “DataLogger” and click the tick button.

Select “Modules/PCM” and click the tick button.

How to reflash Ford instrument cluster with VCM2 IDS scanner

Engineer replay:

The instrument cluster only holds mileage for the 05-09's. You need a WIFI VCMII diagnostic system with IDS software to do any of the programming, and/or transfer of information from one component to a new one.

Equipment:

Ford VCM 2 scanner and Integrated Diagnostic System IDS software (V86, V94 or V96)

Programmable Module Installation Instructions:

1)

Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Using (IDS) When the Original Module is Available

NOTE: Following module installation, some modules require a separate learning procedure be 3. From the Toolbox icon, select Module carried out. 1.   Install the new module

3. From the Toolbox icon, select Module ignition key to the OFF position, and press the Programming and press the check mark.

4. Select Programmable Module Installation.

5. Select the module that was replaced.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, and press the Programming and press the check mark.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the ON position, and press the check mark.

8. If the data is not available, the IDS displays a screen stating to contact the As-Built Data check mark. Retrieve the data from the technician service publication website at this time and press the check press the check mark.

9. Enter the module data and press check mark

10. The Ford IDS downloads the data into the new module and displays Module Configuration

11. Test module fro correction operation.
