How to do Mazda IDS V96 WIFI Test

This is guide for Mazda IDS V96 WIFI Test; that is, your WIFI version Mazda VCM II must set wifi as follow for its use.

Detailed instruction:

Connect VCM 2 to the car. Do no need to connect with USB cable.

Insert the VCM 2 WIFI card to the computer.

Click the wifi icon and connect “VCM II 88614802”.

Open the file “Mazda IDS” on Desktop.

Click  on the top right, and select the “wireless default”. Then click the tick button to make an association between this PC and this VCM II.

And click the tick button on “Device Selection” interface.

Establishing communication with the VCM II...

Then select the device line.

Turn to this interface, and select “Start New Session/All other”, then click the tick button.

Establishing communication to PCM...

Select “Yes” for the vehicle specification.

Select “No” and click the tick button.

Click the tick button.

Turn to this interface to select “DataLogger” and click the tick button.

Select “Modules/PCM” and click the tick button.

Establishing communication with the ECU...

Select “TIRESIZE(NUM)” and click the tick button.

Then you will get the engine coolant temperature.

Turn to this interface to see the vehicle specification and then select “Delete (delete session)” .

Exit the software Mazda IDS V96.

3. Install Mazda IDS

Open “VCM 2/IDS V96/setup”.

Choose the setup language to continue.

Click “Next” to begin installation of Mazda IDS.

Click “Next” with the selection of “I accept... license agreement”.

Click “Next”.

Click “Install” to begin installation.

4. Install Mazda C93.

Open “VCM 2/C_CD/setup”.

Calibration...

Click “Next” to begin installing Mazda C93.

Click “Next”.

Click “Install” to begin installation.

Installing... (about 30 minutes)

Click “Finish” to exit the wizard when Mazda C93 is installed.

Open “Computer/Local Disk (C:)/Program Files/Bosch/VIX-VCI/”. Two folders--- “VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II)” and “VCI Software (Mazda-VCM-II)”. Copy all the files from “VCI Software (Ford-VCM-II)” to “VCI Software (Mazda-VCM-II)”.

Click “Yes” with selection of “Do this for all current items”.

Copy and replace for all conflicts.

Click “Continue”.

5. Run Mazda IDS.

Connect your VCM II and vehicle.

Open “Mazda IDS” on Desktop.

Select “dealer type: Non-Dealer” and “country: IRELAND”. Then click the tick button.

Configuring PC and VCM II use...

Select “Start New Session/All other”.

Establishing communication to PCM...

Select “Yes” for the vehicle specification.

Select “No” and click the tick button.

Click the tick button.

Turn to this interface to select “DataLogger” and click the tick button.

Select “Modules/PCM” and click the tick button.

Question before entering:

One of Ford mustang GT 2006 owner consult obdtool.co.uk engineer that he need a special OBDII scanner to read the instrument cluster and reflash it.  

Engineer replay:

The instrument cluster only holds mileage for the 05-09's. You need a WIFI VCMII diagnostic system with IDS software to do any of the programming, and/or transfer of information from one component to a new one.

Equipment:

Ford VCM 2 scanner and Integrated Diagnostic System IDS software (V86, V94 or V96)

Programmable Module Installation Instructions:

1)

Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Using (IDS) When the Original Module is Available

NOTE: Following module installation, some modules require a separate learning procedure be 3. From the Toolbox icon, select Module carried out. 1.   Install the new module

2. Connect the VCM2 IDS and identify the vehicle as normal.

3. From the Toolbox icon, select Module ignition key to the OFF position, and press the Programming and press the check mark.

4. Select Programmable Module Installation.

5. Select the module that was replaced.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, and press the Programming and press the check mark.

7. Follow the on-screen instructions, turn the ignition key to the ON position, and press the check mark.

8. If the data is not available, the IDS displays a screen stating to contact the As-Built Data check mark. Retrieve the data from the technician service publication website at this time and press the check press the check mark.

9. Enter the module data and press check mark

10. The Ford IDS downloads the data into the new module and displays Module Configuration

To upgrade from the old version to IDS V96, the user is advised to ship back VCM II multiplexer to obdtool.co.uk, then get the multiplexer reworked the new chip, the upgrade charge 20USD + shipping cost. 

Note: only the VCM II with newest serial number is able to upgrade. VCM II with serial number 31605352 can't upgrade because it's locked.

Rain sensor wiring details:

Pin 1 on sensor connect to Pin 8 on headlight switch

Pin 2 on sensor connect to GND

Before connecting VCM II to vehicle, you need to unplug GEM module, disconnect toughbook/laptop from internet

and then run Ford VCM II IDS (by disconnecting from internet, IDS ca not download vehicles "As Built Data"). Once IDS

has communicated with vehicle. Select Module programming and then Programmable module installation (PMI).

Select GEM, IDS will attempt to download "as built data" it will then give option to manually configure GEM module.

Select manual configuration & enter the following codes when instructed too. (There are 3 programming codes to enter

in - 1 at a time, shown in yellow box below)

Once done IDS with ask for module to be installed. At this point plug GEM module back in, and follow instructions on IDS to complete process

Now you have automatic wipers and headlights with Alarm.

How to update old Ford or Mazda VCM 2 IDS V86/V91/V94 to V96?

1. Send back your VCM2 main unit to our factory to change the firmware chip to update. Update cost 20USD/time not including shipping.

2. Old VCM II diagnostic system with Serial Number 31605352 can not be updated.

3. If install new V96 software on WIFI VCM2, WIFI wireless function will be disabled. If you need to use WIFI connection, please keep it V86 version. Our new VCM2 comes with both V86 and V96 software versions.
